Sanjeev Khirwar sparked national outrage for taking his dog for a walk at Delhi’s Thyagaraj Stadium, disrupting the activities of athletes and coaches.
The officer was slammed on social media for misusing his authority after which MHA received a report from the Delhi Chief secretary regarding the misuse of facilities at the stadium by both Khirwar and his wife and they were asked to take the necessary action regarding the same.

Following the controversy, the IAS officer has now been transferred to Ladakh on 26th May 2022 by the Union Home Ministry (MHA) and his IAS wife Rinku Dugga has been transferred to Arunanchal Pradesh.
On the same day, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has ordered to keep all the state-run stadiums open till 10 pm for the sportsmen who wish to practice till late at night.
