Girish Sharma Tragic Accident
At the age of 2, Girish went to his grandfather’s house in his summer vacations. His grandfather suffered a medical emergency and he was being taken to the hospital. He ran at the back of the ambulance and sadly, he ran down the railway track and his right leg got struck.
Girish wasn’t able to pull off his leg and unfortunately, at that time a train passed by squashing his right leg. He was being taken to the hospital which was too far but as he couldn’t bear the pain, so that the doctor cut off his right leg.

Girish started playing the game when he was 14 years old, and within a year, he became the world’s number 2 in the disabled category. In 2007, he moved to Thane, for joining the Saiyad Modi Badminton Academy of the Thane Municipal Corporation located at Dadoji Konddev Stadium.
He takes part in a world championship which is to be held in Germany in May, 2009, where he has receive 2 Gold Medals at National championship for the physically-challenged.
After that, he represented India in Israel (winning 2 silver medals in both singles and doubles) and so on in Thailand. His huge and immense win till date is a Gold Medal in Paralympics Asia Cup for Disabled.
