Bachendri Pal was born in 24 May 1954 at Nakuri, Uttarakhand, India. She was born into a rural working-class family. She is the first Mountaineer from India who reach the peak of Mount Everest.
In 2019, Bachendri was awarded with the third highest civilian award Padma Bhushan by Government of India. Presently she is working in steel company Tata Steel, where she trains selected people on exciting missions.
Bachendri along with Premlata Aggarwal and a group of ace climbers, which includes Mt. Everest climbers have, silently arrived in Uttarkashi and carried out relief and rescue operations in the far way high elevation villages of the Himalayas that had been devastate in the 2013 North India floods.

Bachendri Pal Early Life
Bachendri was born to a Bhotiya family in Nakuri village, it is in the Uttarkashi district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. She was one of the five children of her parents. She has completed her post graduation M.A. and B.Ed.from D.A.V. Post Graduate College, Dehradun.
Bachendri got her first trial of mountaineering thrill at the age of 12, she went with her friends at the peak during a school picnic. She was the first girl in 1982, at Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, she climbed Mt. Gangotri 6,672.0 meter and Mt. Rudragaria 5,818.9 meter.
In this time, she got utilization as an trainer at the National Adventure Foundation (NAF), which had set up an adventure school for training women to learn mountaineering.
