A. G. Perarivalan Biography:- A. G. Perarivalan was a death convict in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, the former Prime Minister Of India who was killed in a suicide bomb killing on 21st May 1991. He was later on in life imprisonment along with Murugan and Santhan, the other two convicts of the same case in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore Central Prison for over three decades.

On 18th May 2022, the Supreme Court Wednesday invoked Article 142 of the Constitution, which grants it extraordinary powers for “doing complete justice in any cause or matter pending before it” and released Peravivalan from his life imprisonment. The Supreme Court’s verdict was highly condemned by the Congress Party, calling it deeply painful and disappointed.
