Ranil Wickremesinghe was born on 24 March 1949 in Colombo, Sri Lanka and he’s 73 years old. He is a Sri Lankan politician, who is the present and the 9th president of Sri Lanka since 21 July 2022. He also holds the place of Minister of Finance of Sri Lanka. He is a MLA (Member of Parliament) from the UNP (United National Party) and he has been the head of the UNP since 1994.
Ranil also served as Prime Minister of Sri Lanka in five separate stints, and now leading 6th Government as a President of Sri Lanka. Mahinda Rajapaksa’s resign on 9 May 2022, due to the 2022 Sri Lankan protests. After the president Gotabaya Rajapaksa appointed Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister of Sri Lanka on 12 May 2022.
