Queen of Melody : Lata Mangeshakr Passed Away
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, Queen of Melody died at the age of 92 on the morning of February 6, 2022, who mesmerised millions with her golden voice. Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital .she died of multiple organ failure.
Born in September 1929, She waS original named Hema, but her father changed it to Lata after a character in one of his plays.
Lata Mangeshkar started her career at the age of 13 in the 1942 Marathi film Kiti Halaal. Her last full film album was ‘Veer-Zaara” in 2004. She has been honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan and Filmfare awards.

The singer was with full state honours in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar attended her funeral.
