Musharraf was born on 11th August 1943 in a Muslim family in Delhi in British India. His father’s name is Syed Musharrafuddin, a former accountant, and his mother’s name is Begum Zarin Musharraf, a homemaker.
He attended the Saint Patrick’s School in Karachi to complete his school education. He then went to the Forman Christian College University in Lahore and graduated with Mathematics as his major subject. He went to the Royal College of Defence Studies in the UK as well.
Musharraf began his career at the age of 18 and joined the Pakistan Military Academy in 1961 and later joined the Pakistan Army in 1964. He became the commander-in-chief of Pakistan’s military army. He resigned from the military in November 2007.
He served as the President of Pakistan from 1999 to 2008 after removing the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from his post. During the 2008 elections, he was forced to resign from his position.
