Kelly Curtis is a skeleton athlete from the United States. She is the first African-American woman or male to compete for Team USA in the Olympic sport of skeleton. She is also the only member of the U.S. Air Force at this year’s Winter Games.
Team USA’s Kelly Curtis has completed the first two heats in Day 1 of women’s skeleton at the 2022 Beijing Games, and she is the first Black skeleton athlete to do so.

When Curtis graduated from Springfield with a degree in sports management in 2012, she figured her days as a competitive athlete were behind her. Then she pursues a master’s degree in educational leadership at St. Lawrence University.

Career-
She won a bronze medal in the Women’s Bobsled North American Cup in 2014-2015. At the 2011 Penn Relays, she competed in the heptathlon. She finished the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games with a bronze medal. She earned a gold medal in the 2017-2018 Women’s Skeleton North American Cup.
She made her world cup debut, and joined the world cup team on November 20, 2021, for the 2021-2022 Olympic season. She also made her height point and was placed in 9th place.
In the world cup final of the season held in St. Moritz on Jan. 14, 2022, she was placed 6th, along with Uhlaender.
