The result was announced by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Kaka Shehu Lawal. Dr. Radda secured 506 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, former Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, who got 442 votes, and the former MD Nigerian Security Minting and Printing Company, Abbas Umar Masnanwa, who scored 436 votes.
As per Lawan, Radda scored 506 votes out of 1805 delegates who cast their ballots in the primary elections held on Thursday, 27th May 2022 at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
