Dullas Alahapperuma was born on 14 May 1959 at Dikwella, Matara, Sri Lanka. He is a Matara District Member of the Parliament and a former Cabinet Minister of Information and Mass Media of Sri Lanka.
Dullas is a President candidate for Sri Lanka after Gotabaya Raajpaksa (Former President) had offered his resignation and after fled to Singapore in the face of Public Wrath. The Voting for president will be held on 20 July 2022 on Wednesday.

Dullas Alahapperuma Political Career
In 1994, Dullas topped the Matara preferential vote as a People Alliance candidate with a huge Margin, at that time, he entered for the first time in the Parliament. He was also appointed as Deputy Minister of Samurdhi, Parliamentary Affairs & Up-country Development and Rural Development.
Dullas re-entered in the Parliament in 2010 as a national list MP representing UPFA and he was afterwards appointed as Minister of Youth Affairs. He opposed the 2020 General Election as a SLPP candidate from Matara district and won to enter Parliament.
In July 2022, Dullas declared himself a candidate from SLPP in the President Election. Current acting president Ranil Wickremesinghe from United National Party (UNP) and Anura Kumara Dissanayake from Janatha Vimukthi Peramunay (JVP) are in the race to become Sri Lanka’s next president.
